A last gasp goal from the visitors denied the Hawks their second victory of the week in an entertaining game between the two 2018 State Finalists.
San Bernardino Valley opened the scoring with a shot from distance around the 20 minute mark, but Chloe Helenihi replied with another fine drive from distance twenty minutes later. There was more action to come as Brianna Diaz gave SCC the half-time lead following good work from Miranda Lopez.
The Hawks were much improved after the break, and managed to extend their lead with 20 minutes to go. A fine move down the right side, culminated in Tara Hansel laying the ball off to Hannah Roskelly who struck it high and hard beyond the reaches of the SBVC keeper. The Wolverines replied almost immediately, responding first to a rebound, and then as the clock ticked down, found the equalizer to leave the teams all square at 3-3.
Next up for the Hawks is a trip to Southwestern College on Tuesday, September 10th for a 4pm kick-off. Thanks to all the Hawks followers in attendance this evening.
