Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Earns PRs at Biola Invitational
The Santiago Canyon College men's and women's cross-country teams hit the trails this morning for the Biola Invitational. The men's team was at full strength with five competitors combining to haul in ninth place, while the women's side experienced personal records leading to a strong showing.
MEN
For the third-consecutive race, sophomore Johan Chan Espejo paced the Hawks. He finished 85th overall with a mark reading 30:25.4. Sophomore Nicholas Villalobos followed in 90th place with a time of 31:24.8.
Sophomore Christopher Selevos was not too far behind and placed inside the top-100 with a mark of 31:39.6, while sophomore Jacob Hallahan earned a mark of 32:17.5. Freshman Trevor Wong rounded out the finishers for SCC with a time of 35:37.2.
WOMEN
Freshman Amabelle Olmedo experienced a personal best time with a 21:49.5 mark, which was four seconds better than her previous mark. She continues to impress as the top runner for SCC. She placed 65th for her efforts. Sophomore Selah Darden worked towards a 32:51.1 mark to round out the runners for the Hawks.
