The Hawks made it ten straight wins to start the season and stayed undefeated with their victory over Citrus tonight. #3 ranked SCC (10-0) defeated #6 ranked Citrus (5-3) by the score of 99-83. Both teams started hot in the first half and exchanged baskets at both ends of the court. The teams combined for 10 made three-pointers in the half. The Hawks converted 6 out of 14, while the Owls made 4 out of 12. At the half, SCC held a 47-44 advantage. Antoine Jenkins scored 13 points, Lucas Holden scored 8, and Kevin Dobson contributed 7 points. AJ Garrity dished out 5 assists and David Agba secured 5 rebounds in the half.
SCC has had some strong second halves this season and the trend continued. The Hawks were able to take control of the game and pushed the lead to 20 points late in the half. SCC's defense stepped up and helped secure the victory. The Hawks had five players score in double digits. Jenkins, battling flu-like symptoms, finished with a game-high 24 points and 6 assists. Paulo Araujo scored 19 points, 16 of which were in the second half. He connected on 4 three-pointers for the game. Lucas Holden had a solid game with 17 points on 8 for 10 shooting. Paul Vilela scored 15 points, including 2 three-pointers. David Agba had another solid game with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
