SCC Secures Road Win over Cypress

The Hawks used a burst of offense and a smothering defense to jump on Cypress early in the game. SCC started the game on a 22-3 run and managed to keep a double digit lead throughout the game. The Hawks soared to an 81-55 win over the Chargers. The first 5 minutes of the game set the tone for the Hawks as they connected on 4 three-pointers and played tough defense. For the half, SCC connected on 7 three-pointers. Antoine Jenkins led the way with 22 points in the half, while David Agba chipped in with 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. At the half, SCC held a 16 point lead with the score 46-30.
The second half started with a defensive turnover forced by the Hawks and a transition three-point bucket by A.J. Garrity. Once again, the Hawks used strong defense and great offensive execution to maintain their lead throughout the half and finish the game strong. Kevin Dobson nailed back to back three-pointers to seal the victory. Jenkins finished with a game-high 33 points including 6 made three-pointers. He also grabbed 7 rebounds. Agba pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds while scoring 12 points and dishing out 7 assists for the Hawks. Paul Vilela and Randall Walker both chipped in with 7 points, while Kevin Dobson and Lucas Holden finished with 6 points apiece. The Hawks connected on 13 threes for the game, secured 40 rebounds, and had 24 assists in the road win.
#3 ranked SCC is now 14-0 overall and 2-0 in the Orange Empire Conference. The Hawks will have some time off for the Holidays and then be back in action on Friday, January 3rd at Saddleback College. Tip-off is set for 5:00pm.
