Amabelle Olmedo Named All-Conference Award Winner
After placing 10th overall at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships last Friday, freshman speedster Amabelle Olmedo was named to the women's cross country All-Conference list.
Olmedo was the top runner for the Hawks all season as she crossed the finish line first in seven of the team's competitions. She inked a time of 21:15 in the championships to solidify her position on the list.
She finished in the top-15 in three races this season while placing top-10 in two meets. Her strongest finish came in the season opener at the Cuesta Invitational where she placed ninth overall with a time of 23:30. From then on, she finished inside the 22 minute mark with a season-best time coming at the Southern California Preview. She clocked in a time of 20:58 to earn 40th overall.
She, along with her team, will compete in the 3C2A Southern California Championships this Friday, November 3.
