Hawks Spotlight

Alyssa Marino of the Santiago Canyon College women’s soccer team has been named the Player of the Week after a strong two weeks on the pitch. The freshman forward from Orange, CA has proven to be one of the most dynamic weapons on the pitch after leading her squad to four wins this past week while pushing their winning streak to seven games. In the past four games, she has started in three of them while scoring three goals and dishing out one assist leading to seven points. Her largest outcome came in a 3-1 victory over Golden West where she netted tow of her three scores leading to four points. She also scored a goal and dished out an assist in a blowout victory over Santa Ana. She leads her team with seven goals and 16 points and currently ranks third in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) in goals and points.

Jordan Salinas, aka "Little Noggin", strapped on her cape and took on the hero roll leading to a crucial victory over Moorpark on Friday afternoon. After the Hawks grabbed an early lead and failed to lock it down due to a Radier goal in the 88th minute, Salinas corralled a well-placed corner kick from Aubrey Bryant in the 90th minute and pushed it passed an outstretched goalkeeper for the win. So far this season, Salinas has scored one goal and notched two assists in four starts. It is an understatement that Nick Asam was goal hungry since stepping on the pitch earlier this month. He is coming off an impressive contest where he notched a hat trick in a commanding victory over San Diego Mesa on Friday morning. He started the game by scoring in the first minute which ultimately set the Hawks up for a victory. His three-goal effort was the highest in his career and currently contributes to his team-leading four goals on the season. He has amassed eight points on the season thus far.
