Jack Nygren Earns All-Conference Honors to Highlight XC OEC Championships
Freshman Jack Nygren has been the backbone of the Santiago Canyon College cross country squad all season. After being the top runner for the Hawks in each meet, he continued to do so by placing 12th overall at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships this morning to earn All-Conference recognition.
Nygren featured one of his strongest times of the season on a lengthy course hosted at Huntington Beach Central Park. He finished 12th overall with a time of 21:44.09. His finish qualifies him for the 3C2A Southern California Regional Championships next Friday, November 8 in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
Sophomore Trevor Wong completed his two-year career after placing 55th overall with a time of 27:00.36.
On the women's side, freshman Tiffany Easter led the way with a time of 23:02.00 to place in the top-25. Freshman Brittany Roque was the final finisher with a mark of 27:06.08.
