Bio

Over the last 20 years, Tim Johnson has coached at virtually every level from club to professional. Most recently, Coach Johnson led the men's team at Hope International University from 2012-2015. Prior to that, he served two stints as the men's head coach at Golden West College, form 1999-2006 and again from 2009-2012.

His professional coaching career began when he coached the Northern Ireland National Team where his squad was a finalist in the 2008 CEV Championships – small countries division. He has worked with USA Volleyball since 2000. He has served as an Annual Youth High Performance and Development Camp coach. In 2008, he was an assistant for the USA Bronze Men's World University team and in the summer of 2012, he was an assistant for the USA Gold Medal Pan American Cup team.

Prior to coaching, Johnson made a name for himself as a player. In college, he earned First-Team All-State honors at Golden West before moving on to help Long Beach State earn a National Championship in 1991. Professionally, he was part of five US Open National Championship teams with Team Paul Mitchell. He also played for Team Macon in Macon, France from 1995-1997.

Educationally, Coach Johnson is finishing up his Master's Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration at Concordia University and holds a Bachelor's Degree from Long Beach State.

Coach Johnson resides in Fountain Valley with his wife, Judy and two daughters, Makalya and Morgan.
