The Santiago Canyon College Hawks opened their 2019-20 Season on Halloween Night in the Santa Ana College Tournament against Long Beach City. The Hawks were as excited as the candy-seeking trick or treaters and scored 51 points in the first half to lead 51-35. Antoine Jenkins, Tyler Goodlow, and Paulo Araujo scored in double digits in the half with 15, 12, and 11 points respectively. The Hawks dropped in 10 three pointers in the half on 21 attempts.

SCC was led in scoring by Antoine Jenkins with 32 points, including a monster dunk with about 5 minutes to go in the game. He finished the evening 10 for 15 from the field and 8 for 8 from the free throw line. Tyler Goodlow chipped in with 17 points, and Paulo Araujo added 11 points. The Hawks were led in rebounding by Lucas Holden who finished with 9.
When asked about the outcome of the game, Head Coach Todd Dixon replied, "This game was a great test to start the season. Long Beach City is a very well coached team and they have some very good players. I'm happy with the way we started the game. We will need to work on keeping the pace of the game in our favor when teams try to slow us down. Overall, a great way to start the season and I look forward to another challenge in Chaffey tomorrow night." The Hawks will be back in action on Friday night as they take on Chaffey College at 7:30pm in the Championship of the Santa Ana Tournament.
