Coach Young grew up in Moreno Valley California, graduating from Canyon Springs High School in 1995.

Coach Young has been coaching in the Southern California/Inland Empire area for 15 years, starting with NJB Basketball for 3 years and moving on to coach AAU Club Basketball. Within 2 years, Coach Young started his own program as Director and Head Coach of several teams including 13u, 14u and 17u teams. Coach Young’s program consists of over 70 players from the ages of 10 to 17 years old.

From that experience Coach Young moved on to become an Assistant Coach with Hillcrest High School in Riverside, California. In his 3 years with the school, Hillcrest won the CIF-SS Championship in 2018, River Valley League Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020, as well as making two state playoff appearances! Coach Young just completed his first year with Santiago Canyon College as an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Basketball Team. SCC’s 2019-2020 team won the Orange Empire Conference Championship and earned a trip to the CCCAA Elite Eight.
