Bio

Kris Scigliano has over thirty years of experience coaching all levels of volleyball, including middle school, high school, Junior Olympics, high performance camps, collegiate and internationally adult professionals.

Career highlights include two years as head coach of a men’s professional team in France, being the longest tenured volleyball coach at Central Catholic, and decades of experience with women’s and men’s college teams. He maintains professional contacts with coaches of foreign professional and national teams in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Puerto Rico and Brazil and has connections with the coaching staff and players from current and prior USA National teams.  Kris is still actively playing and competing in Volleyball. He has qualified and competed in two senior Olympic games, two Pennsylvania Senior State Games and four Maryland Senior Olympics.  He has competed in 22 consecutive USA Open National Championships in the men’s master’s division with the Penn State Alumni team. 

Selected coaching achievements:

  • Achieved top two ranking in state of Pennsylvania while coaching at Central Catholic
  • Five W.P.I.A.L. boys section championships
  • Eight consecutive women’s W.P.I.A.L. playoff appearances
  • Four WPIAL women’s section championships
  • Two City women’s championships, one men’s runner up.

A head coach known for developing top athletes with a passion for the sport who have gone on to compete at the highest levels of the sport including:

  • Three NCAA D1 coaches
  • Two top level high school head coaches
  • Three international professional players
  • Several NCAA D1 athletes
  • Two FIVB accredited international officials
