A goal by Kendra Koerth from distance just before the break, separated the two teams in an intriguing contest. SCC dominated from the out-set against a resilient Southwestern College back line. But the hosts held the Hawks at bay for long periods, while occasionally threatening themselves from set-pieces. 

The Hawks lifted the tempo in the second period and went close through Miranda Diaz Casarrubaias, Brianna Diaz and Chloe Helenihi. Some outstanding goal-keeping denied the Hawks further but Emily Diplock claimed the shut-out for the visitors as they held out comfortably to record the victory.

Next, Santiago Canyon visit the College of the Desert on Friday, September 13th. Kick-off is at 4pm. Thanks go out to all those who travelled south to Chula Vista for today's game.​
