2019 Season Underway

The 2019 Hawks opened the new season with a convincing win against a young, but determined visiting team from Grossmont College. The 8-1 final scoreline didn't tell the whole story, because with thirty minutes gone the score was tied at 1-1. 

Ashley Roskelly opened the scoring for the Hawks, after Brianna Diaz drew a penalty, but the Griffins equalized shortly afterwards following a defensive turnover. Emma Carton (pictured) restored the lead with a fine shot from distance. Then former Edison Chargers Chloe Helenihi and Ceci Roghair combined to put the Hawks up 3-1 at the break.

Three goals in fifteen minutes from the restart sealed the contest, with Tara Hansel scoring twice, and Helenhi creating and scoring another. Roghair and Diaz rounded out the scoring as Emily Diplock and Taylor Kliss shared time in goal.
