2021 Reflections and Awards
Looking back at 2021, the Hawks started the season remarkably well. From mid-August all the way through the end of October, SCC did not concede a goal. In the first 16 games, with just one tie, the Hawks won the other fifteen contests. The team felt the season ended prematurely and is already looking forward to returning to the field in 2022.
Recognizing the quality on our team, the United Soccer Coaches voted freshman Alyssa Rubio (pictured) as an All-American.
Jacky Alba-Diaz, Kylee Medlin, and Paige Winters were recognized as First Team Orange Empire Conference with Cassie Lewis, and Zaydee Solis achieving All-second Team status.
In the team awards, voted for by the players, the following were recognized:
Most Valuable Player- Jaqueline Alba-Diaz
Best Attacking Player- Summer Stewart
Best Defensive Player- Kylee Medlin
Most Improved- Camryn Toole, closely followed by Aliyah Lorsung and Kahelelani Walsh
Most Inspirational- Courtney Carbajal
Thanks go out to everyone involved in supporting our team in 2021.
