The Santiago Canyon College women's soccer team fired off a season-high 16 shots on Tuesday night in a non-conference showdown against the Cerritos College Falcons on the road. Of the 16 rips, it was freshman Darleen Dominguez who was the most potent weapon as she bagged a hat trick leading to a 5-1 win.
Dominguez was the anchor to the offense by scoring one goal in the first half, followed by two netters in the second half. Her first score came when the Hawks were already up by two scores in the 45th minute. Sophomore Alyssa Marino assisted on the goal.
The second half was all Dominguez as she buried her second score in the 63rd minute after connecting with sophomore Jacqueline Arroyo. She later put the icing on the cake with a netter in extra time with Marino finding her to etch her second assist of the game.
The Hawks scored their first goal in the 36th goal compliments of a defensive miscue that forced an own goal. Sophomore Gigi Bruno was responsible for the second score of the game occuring in the 41st minute.
