Volleyball's Chelsea Riedel Named Hawks Athlete of the Week

After a strong start to this year's campaign, freshman outside hitter Chelsea Riedel of the women's volleyball team has been named this week's Athlete of the Week.

Riedel has dominated the outside for the Hawks leading to 40 kills, 16 digs and 44 total points in the past three matches. Despite the Hawks not winning a match yet this season, they have played teams to the brink featuring a four-set thriller against No. 25 Riverside in their home opener last Wednesday.

In the match against Riverside, she set career marks with 21 kills, 12 digs, and two services aces. She has yet to fall below eight total kills to pace the offense. She has landed in double-digit kills in all but one game this season.

She has started and played every set this season to prove her dynamic worth. Additionally, she has notched a 3.75 kills-per-set mark to lead her team.
