CCCAA Southern California Regional Championships
On Friday, November 5th, The Santiago Canyon College Men's Cross Country Team competed in a field of 32 community college programs at the CCCAA Southern California Regional Championships held at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.
The SCC men's team finished out their season by earning a 16th Place Final Ranking in the Southern California Region. The Running Hawks were led by freshman Nathan Fisher who placed 79th within the field of 172 competitors and recorded a time of 22 minutes 12 seconds over the 4-mile men's course. Fisher's performance at the Regional Championships earned him an Individual Qualifier berth into the CCCAA State Cross Country Championships. Joshua Maguire(107th place, 22:55), Nick Villalobos (109th place, 22:59), Jesus Retiguin (119th place, 23:24),Joshua Aguilera (120th place, 23:25), Brandon Dominguez (135th place, 24:13), and Mason French (163rd place, 26:49) rounded out the scoring unit for the Running Hawks.
Next on the schedule, the Hawks cross country program will be represented by individual qualifierNathan Fisher on Saturday, November 20th, at the CCCAA State Cross Country Championships held at Woodward Park in Fresno.
